Tropico 5 Banned in Thailand

New Era Games Marketing Manager Nonglak Sahavattanapong announced that Tropico 5 will not be available in the country of Thailand today. Thailand military is placing the ban due because “some part of its content might affect peace and order in the country.” This is most likely due to the Thailand military took over the country less than 3 months ago.

Sahavattanapong told the Associated Press “We’ve had licenses to distribute Tropico 3 and 4 before, but in the fifth installment, the story line has developed further and there might be some part of it that’s not appropriate in the current situation.”

The government have not given any further explanation about why the game will be blocked and New Era Games has already stated they will not seek an appeal.
