Activision Blizzard To Stop Providing World of Warcraft Subscription Numbers

Activision Blizzard have revealed during their recent conference call they will no longer be providing the subscription numbers for World of Warcraft starting next quarter. Activision said..

“Note that this is the last quarter that we plan to provide subscriber numbers. There are other metrics that are better indicators of the overall Blizzard performance.”

While the numbers are lower than what they have been, it still remains the most played pay-to-play MMORPG in the world. Some are speculating that Blizzard will slowly start to make the game completely free-to-play, but that is very unlikely.
