Splatoon Sold Out In Japan?

In what seems like a surprise to some, Nintendo has revealed that Splatoon as Sold Out of physical copies in Japan. This has caught many retailers in Japan by surprise especially Tsutaya who saw a huge increase in pre-orders after TV ads started appearing.

 

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata went on Twitter released this statement..

 

“Splatoon has become scarce in the stores, and we apologize. Next week, but additional shipping, hurry please consider also purchased the download version. Also will add production amiibo splatoon are in short supply. Will be charged while your time here, but thank you for your note.”

Nintendo did say that for those who wish to get the game can download it right now via Nintendo E-Shop, but didn’t detail when any more physical copies would be available in stores.
