Twitch Calls Negative Reaction To New Terms Of Service “Misunderstanding”

Earlier today Rod “Slasher” Breslau broke that Twitch had an all-hands-on-deck internal meeting to discuss their announcement yesterday that the worlds virgin, incel, and simp would now be against their terms of service. COO Sara Clements was even rumored to have name dropped Slash himself.

Since then, Twitch have made brief statement saying that that it was a misunderstanding and do not have a blanket ban on the world simp. The company stated:

We wanted to clear up any misunderstandings about language that can be used on Twitch. At the core of it, we’re focused on doing what we can to protect our community from harassment.

We do not have a blanket ban on the use of words like “simp” in casual banter, but will take action when words like this (amongst others) are used to harass and harm community members.

Needless to say, the reaction has still not gone over well with both streamers and viewers alike.
