Overwatch League Address Absence Of Chengdu Hunters

Throughout the offseason heading into the Overwatch League many fans around the world wondered what was going on with the Chinese team Chengdu Hunters as they never announced their roster for the upcoming season. It has now become even more of a discussion as the opening weekend schedule has been announced with the notable exception of the Hunters.

This has caused the Overwatch League themselves to provide a statement noting the team were not including as they are still deciding the future of the team.

The Chengdu Hunters are owned by the popular Chinese livestreaming platform Huya (Nimo.TV outside of China) and still have four players on their roster. Both Zhou “Mmonk” Xiang and Huang “leave” Xin left the team in the offseason to join the Huangzhou Spark.
