Borderlands 3 Creative Director Leaves Gearbox

Another major name a Gearbox has left the company as Paul Sage revealed on his LinkedIn that he has left the company after a six year tenure with them. Sage posted the following:

Today was my last day at Gearbox Studios. With an incredible team, we launched one of the top selling games in 2019 to much acclaim, and it remains a game I am very proud of. I know that team still has many talented developers and I am looking forward to seeing what they accomplish both as individuals and as teammates in the future.

Speaking of the future, for the first time in many years the details surrounding my career are uncertain, nevertheless I am excited about that future. As has been reported, I left the studio with other amazingly talented developers who are at the top of their skillset within the industry. I cannot stress enough what a rarity finding such a group of diverse talent is like, but even better is having the privilege to be a part of that group. Together we share many common values including a passion for video games and a deep respect for other developers.

When there is more to say, and there will be more to say, there will be an official announcement. For now, it is time to decompress, tell my family I love them and then get down to doing something truly special and unique.

While his future seems unknown at this time, some believe that he could be joining some of his former colleagues at a new studio if the report by Axios is anything to go by.
