Atari Acquires Intellivision Brand

Not since the days of the World Wrestling Federation acquiring World Championship Wrestling can something say that two of the biggest rivals in their industry have been acquired by one another. Atari have announced they have acquired the Intellivision brand and nearly 200 games.

This acquisition will see Intellivision Entertainment LLC and continue to develop the infamous Amico console with a license from Atari. This will also see the brand rebound with exploration into more licensing and possible new games.

Phil Adam, CEO of Intellivision Entertainment, said in a press release”

“Atari has been a valuable partner and we have every confidence they will be a responsible steward of the storied Intellivision brand. We look forward to our expanded collaboration and the prospect of bringing a broad array of new titles to the Amico family gaming platform.”
