Mixer Only Sees 0.2% Increase In Viewership Over Past Year

Thanks to stay-at-home orders around the world to combat COVID-19, livestream viewership has seen an increase across the board. Thanks to a new report by Forbes, we have learned just how much and how little some of these streaming platforms have grown.

While Twitch is still the largest livestreaming platform in the world, Facebook Gaming saw a 238% increase in year-over-year hours watch reaching 291 million hours watched during the month of April 2020.

The biggest surprise is Microsoft’s Mixer which has only seen a 0.2% increase compared to last year.

So what could be the casue of this? Well on a recent appearance on the ZAPPED Podcast, Ninja said that he expected huge increase in his viewership, but said that Microsoft have not been advertising the platform during this golden opportunity.

A report from ONMSFT from February 2020 also said that morale within Mixer was at an all-time low which probably doesn’t help their case.
