Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol. 1 Receives Update With New Version Of Out Zone

Bitwave Games have released a new update for their recently released Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol. 1. This update not only fixes some bugs that have been ran into, but also addded a ROM update for Out Zone.

This new version, refereed to as Common Version, features a version of the game that many players of the original game might be more familiar with. Some might not be aware, but Out Zone was actually updated several times in its lifetime. This includes the full Japanese ending is translated to English when playing in a region other than Japan.

Out Zone‍

  • Out Zone ROM update: Common version added
  • New leaderboards added: One for Default Game settings, one for No-Assist for the competitive spirits
  • Leaderboards fix: The first letter of the top scorer fixed
  • Auto-dodge assist feature improved
  • Audio backend update: Support for a wider range of audio drivers
  • Audio fix: Sound now plays at a consistent tempo
  • Bug fix: Duplicate menus when canceling the save file dialog are now gone
  • Bug fix: All game settings are now on default from scratch
  • Save data fix: Windows users with wide characters in their user path can save correctly
  • Name fix: Fixed the name of Super Burner in the UI

Twin Cobra‍

  • New leaderboards added: One for Default Game settings, one for No-Assist for the competitive spirits
  • Audio backend update: Support for a wider range of audio drivers
  • Audio fix: Sound now plays at a consistent tempo
  • Widescreen fix: Gameplay in widescreen mode improved
  • Bug fix: Crash that occurred after “COIN: AUTOMATIC” option was set in Kyuukyoku Tiger is now fixed
  • Bug fix: Duplicate menus when canceling the save file dialog are now gone
  • Bug fix: All game settings are now on default from scratch
  • Save data fix: Windows users with wide characters in their user path can save correctly

Zero Wing‍

  • New leaderboards added: One for Default Game settings, one for No-Assist for the competitive spirits
  • Start-up fix: Single-player version selected directly
  • Audio backend update: Support for a wider range of audio drivers
  • Audio fix: Sound now plays at a consistent tempo
  • Bug fix: Duplicate menus when canceling the save file dialog are now gone
  • Bug fix: All game settings are now on default from scratch
  • Save data fix: Windows users with wide characters in their user path can save correctly

Truxton‍

  • New leaderboards added: One for Default Game settings, one for No-Assist for the competitive spirits
  • Assist Mode bug fixed: Setting now saved when loading game settings
  • Audio backend update: Support for a wider range of audio drivers
  • Audio fix: Sound now plays at a consistent tempo
