Tencent Acquired Turtle Rock Studios

Chinese company Tencent have announced they have acquired Turtle Rock Studios and their parent company Slamfire Inc. for an undisclosed amount

“We are all looking forward to joining the Tencent family of studios. Tencent’s outstanding partners, global reach, deep knowledge of gaming and unprecedented support will help us create the kinds of ambitious games we dream of, while allowing us to retain our autonomy and independent spirit.”

Founded in 2002, Turtle Rock Studios are best known for titles such as Evolve, Counter-Strike: Source, and Left 4 Dead. The company are currently working on Back 4 Blood which Tencent says the acquisition will not effect.
