Microsoft Working Closely With Japanese Developers On Next Xbox Console

In the latest issue of Famitsu, Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed they are working very closely with several Japanese game developers with the development on their next Xbox console codenamed Scarlet. Spencer said he has asked several developers what kind of innovations they want to see in the industry that could be incorporated in the new system.

Since the original Xbox released in Japan in 2002, Xbox has failed to gain any kind of traction in the Japanese market outside of small spurts with the Xbox 360 with the release of Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. To this day, it’s very common to see less than 100 Xbox One consoles selling on a weekly basis within the country.
