Insomnia Gaming Festival Sets Record Attendance


Multiplay, organizers of Insomnia, announced today that Insomnia56 was the largest Winter Gaming Festival to date as they saw an attendance increase of 68%. Insomnia56 had 27,000 attendees in 2015 compared to 16,000 in 2014.

Other tidbits to point out was the scale of the event increased from10,000 SQM to over 25,000 SQM and 15 Million social media impressions were made. For the tournaments, 770,000 unique visitors tuned into the live stream on Twitch and peaked at 68,000 concurrent views across all competitions.

Craig Fletcher, Founder CEO of Multiplay had this to say about the accomplishment…

“With every Insomnia festival we look forward to seeing the great numbers of passionate gamers attending, as well as the games on show. 2015 was a huge year, with more people attending our events than ever before. Having hosted our first major Hearthstone Esports tournament, the biggest YouTube personalities and showcasing some of the best games around to play at Insomnia – we’re already looking forward to bringing more exciting content in 2016.”
