HTC Explains Vive Delay

HTC-Valve-VR-Headset-2

Earlier this month HTC said that their Vive virtual reality headset would not be released until April 16 despite originally being slated for release by the end of the year. HTC has since released an update on the delay stating…

“Since announcing the HTC Vive in March of this year we have focused on developing immersive content, refining both hardware design and user experience, and building relationships with new partners both inside and outside of the gaming industry.”

During the Vive Unbound developers forum in China, HTC CEO Cher Wang said the company made “a very, very big technological breakthrough.” This breakthrough was apparently so big they changed the release date to April 2016 in order to give the consumers this improved version.

Cher Wang would not go into any details, but did note they would reveal the new and improved Vive next month at CES 2016.
