Dark and Darker Developers Accused Of Stealing Code And Assets From Nexon

In a statement released on their official Discord, Ironmace refuted accusations they are using stolen assets and code to develop their upcoming dungeon adventure title Dark and Darker. The company stated:

“Our code was built from scratch. Most of our assets are purchased from the Unreal marketplace. All other assets and all game designs docs were created in-house. This has already been audited by an outside agency. As far as we know you cannot copyright a game genre.”

This stems from a report by Korean outlet This Is Game which stated Nexon was accusing Ironmace of stealing code and assets from a prototype within Nexon known as project P3. This speculation comes as Ironmace consists of former staff from Nexon who were accused of taking documents outside of the firm while still emplyed at Nexon.

Another Korean outlet known as YTN also reported that a lawsuit is currently underway between the two companies and Ironmace are currently being investigation by local law enforcement.
