Bethesda Head Pete Hines recently sat down with GamesRader and revealed that players won’t have to craft a bunch of weapons and equipment if you don’t want to. You can just skip to all the action if the player chooses. Stating…
“It’s a completely optional, freeform thing that you can do, if that’s what you want to do. If you don’t care about that and you just want to play quests and play side quests, and finish the main quest and that sort of thing then you can just ignore all of this [crafting]. Or do as much or as little as you want.”
This also applies to your settlement as well. If you choose to do these merchants will set up in Youville, but you won’t be punished if you choose to not do this. Hines said..
“You can [play] it and never even notice that feature is there if you want to, but once you figure it out, it’s like, ‘Okay, this is pretty cool. Now I want to do more’.”
Fallout 4 will be released on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 on November 10.
