Report: Overwatch League Buy-In To Increase, Possibly Up To $60 Million

According to a report by ESPN, the buy-in for the Overwatch League could increase from its current $20 million price tag to $35 million. Sources for ESPN have even speculated that it could go as high as $60 million.

One major criticism Blizzard received from the Overwatch League was the buy-in amount as it is double the amount League of Legends has.

ESPN reported that the Overwatch League has topped its original revenue projections, which could help sway international investors towards the league. Blizzard has also reportedly earned more than $117 million from deals with major companies involving T-Mobile, Twitch, Toyota, and Intel to name a few. The other factor will be if viewership numbers will stay consistent and growing as time progresses.

Blizzard have not commented on this report.
