343 Industires announced on their weekly blog post that Team Skirmish will be removed from Halo 5.
According to the company, the reason for this is due to a “consistently low player population”, and is believed to have a negative impact on other gamemodes as there are no plans to ever bring the playlist back. 343 Industries said in a statement..
“It’s never fun to take away something that players (even if it’s a relatively small group) have become accustomed to and it’s not something the team takes lightly, but sometimes it’s unavoidable.”
