Nintendo Admits It Won’t Meet Holiday Demand For Switch Units

Thanks to news outlet Reuters, we have learned that Nintendo admitted during their latest second quarter results they will likely not meet the demand for Switch consoles this holiday season and are now cutting their Switch sales forecast by 6%.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said during the briefing:

“We can’t produce enough to meet the demand we are expecting during the upcoming holiday season.

“Currently there is no sign of improvement and the situation continues to be severe so I can’t say how long it will continue.”

The company noted that the reason is in part due to the high amount of demand for the consoles and the ongoing global chip shortage effecting several industries around the world.
