New Survey Finds Majority Of Game Developers Are Against Crypto And NFTs

NFTs and Crytocurrency have become a buzz word on Wall Street in the past few months, but consumers seem to overwhelmingly be against it. The games industry itself have also started to express interests with companies such as Square Enix, Sega, Habbo, Electronic Arts, and GameStop announcing or mentioning getting into NFTs. However, it seems that the developers themselves are not interested.

The Game Developers Conference released their annual industry survey today and found that of the 2,700 people surveyed, 72% of developers and the companies they work for “are not interested” in cryptocurrency and 70% are disinterested in NFTs. For comparison, 27% surveyed said they were “somewhat” interested in crypto and 28% said the same about NFTs.

While these developers and gamers alike might not be interested, the final decision on these implementations will ultimately belong to the executives within these companies.
