Daybreak Shutting Down Landmark

Daybreak, the studio behind H1Z1, have announced they will be shutting down the servers to their MMO sandbox name Landmark. The game has only been out since June 2016 and was previously known as EverQuest Next Landmark during parts of development until it was rebranded in March 2014.

The studio did not give a specific reason for shutting down the servers, but said the decision was made after “much review.” If you plan on having a fan-made resurrection, the company noted..

“Daybreak Game Company will retain all of the code and data from Landmark, [and] will not license or authorize the operation of an emulator or fan-operated server.”
