Huge Indie news to report as Two Tribes, makers Toki Tori Series, have announced they will be retiring from the game industry after the release of their upcoming robot hacking shooter RIVE is released. Below is their statement..

“This is it! After more than 15 years of hard work and gallons of blood, sweat and tears, we have decided that RIVE will be Two Tribes’ final game. For this occasion we’ve created a brand new trailer, which you can see below. Feel free to share it with your readers, friends and family.

If you want to say hi – or in this case bye – in person, Martijn and Collin will be in San Francisco next week during GDC. We won’t have a booth, but if you want to play the game or talk to us about this announcement, let us know.”

The company stated they are not shutting down, but will just work on non-gaming related projects, but are unsure just what yet. In addition, the company also stated they will still own the rights to the Toki Tori series and RIVE will still be released in Japan as well as still provide updates after launch.
