Ubisoft Talks Map Size For The Division

division-2

New information for Tom Clancy’s The Division was released today as Creative Director of The Division, Magnus Jansen, revealed in an interview with The Examiner will only take place in a single borough of New York.

The demo back at E3 2013 showed scenes taking place in Brooklyn, but that will not be in the launch version of the game. Instead, the borough will be in Midtown Manhattan. When asked if other boroughs would be in the game, Jansen stated…

“For Tom Clancy’s The Division we are going with Midtown Manhattan. It is because of the 1 to 1 re-creation and the way the pandemic has [happened]. Basically, everything has been hit and there are no more resources because everyone tried to get out. There is no more gasoline in the cars, there is no traffic, you’re on foot. With the level of detail we have, doing Midtown Manhattan is a huge open-world experience and more than enough to sink your teeth into. It is a very sizeable open-world game.”

Tom Clancy’s The Division will be released on March 8.
