A Reddit user who goes by Patsuann posted on Reddit that he recently sent his Switch in for repairs after experiencing connectivity issues with the Joy-Con and Wi-Fi. Nintendo customer service told him it would be easier to just send him a brand new Switch instead of waiting for repairs. When they got the new Switch unit in, it had all of their saved data from the previous Switch unit.
This is very interesting that you are not allowed to choose where to save your game files. Many believe this could indicate that Nintendo plans on rolling out a Cloud save feature on the near future. It’s also possible that only Nintendo’s repair center has this at the moment and is just using it to keep customers happy.
We should find out something in the near future.
