According to a Japanese sales chart, Super Bomberman R has become the best-selling game in the franchise by a long shot. For comparison Bomberman Touch on DS was previously the best-selling game in the franchise with 8,000 copies sold, but Super Bomberman R on Switch has crushed that with 40,000 copies sold in Japan.
This could also be very good for retro games in general as Konami have mentioned before they would consider reviving some of their other franchises in their library if Super Bomberman R did well.
