Kalypso Media have revealed that the fiscal year of 2017 was their best in their 12 years of existence. According to Finance Director Christoph Bentz, “Gross sales are in the mid double digit million Euro region and the profit before tax (EBIT) is in the double digit percentage of gross revenue.”
The company even reached a milestone with 10 million in sales coming from Steam last month. Wolfgang Duhr, Publishing Director, said in the press release:
“We were one of the first European publishers to be present on STEAM back in 2009 and since then we have worked hard on our portfolio and relationship with VALVE. Today, more than 65% of all sales are generated on global digital platforms.”
Many believe 2018 could break that record with the release of Tropico 6 later this year.
