SNK have announced they have formed a new studio under the name VS Studio SNK. This new studio will be based out of Tokyo and is led by industry veteran Katsuhiro Harada.
This new studio and SNK will collaborate on game software development to further strengthen their combined creative capabilities.
Yasuyuki Oda, developer at SNK, said in a press release:
“I am extremely proud to welcome Mr. Katsuhiro Harada, who has been a long-time friend and a worthy rival to us, into our group. We’ve long discussed the hypothetical scenario of working together, and now that dream has become a reality. To be honest, nothing has been decided yet, but I have no doubt that things will become even more exciting than ever before. We look forward to your continued support for SNK and VS Studio.”
Harada spent the past 31 years at Bandai Namco where he primarily served as a Producer and Director of several titles with the most notable being the Tekken franchise. Other titles include Pokken Tournament, Katamari Damacy Reroll, Code Vein, and Shadow Labyrinth.
