SEGA Channel Build of The Flintstones Released

Mean Machines Sega Issue 23

Some more great news for video game preservation as the Video Game History Foundation and Gaming Alexandria have released over 100 prototype ROMS for both Sega Genesis and Sega Channel. One of these that has received a bit of attention online the the Sega Channel version of The Flintstones.

This little-known version was developed by Foley Hi-Tech in 1995 as an exclusive to Sega Channel and was a tie-in to the live-action movie which launched the same year. With Sega channel being a paid subscription and the system automatically deleted downloaded games after turning the console off, the odds of finding any version at all was very unlikely.

Before this, only a prototype build was available online after it was dumped back in 2019.

Those interested in download the ROM can do so here.
