OpTic Gaming Leaves Competitive Halo

Huge news in the Halo world as Optic Gaming have announced they are leaving the competitive scene. This is considered a huge surprise as the squad consisting of Bradley “Frosty” Bergstrom, Tony “LethuL” Campbell Jr., Paul “SnakeBite” Duarte, and Mathew “Royal2” Fiorante are regarded as one of the best in Halo series. This team won the 2017 Halo World Championship and recently came in second at MLG Orlando 2018.

The organization said in a statement..

“As the esports industry’s landscape is rapidly changing, so too must we constantly evaluate our business strategies against it. We are, of course, justifiably proud of our players’ accomplishments—whether it be gold at the 2017 Halo World Championships and DreamHack Denver, or the weekly NA 2K Series Cups, and the unprecedented tenure they collectively boast as a team. But as our agenda evolves, we find that our paths must now diverge.”

With all of these players entering free agency, many wonder where they will end up. It’s believed that most, if not all, the members will be signed to teams before the NA Regional Final which takes place in Columbus, Ohio from March 23 to 25.
