Developers Scramble To Update Games After Unity Vulnerability

This past Friday Unity sent out emails to several video game developers noting they found a vulnerability in their game engine and that developers should take “immediate action” to mitigate a situation. While the company did not find any evidence of any exploit, a security vulnerability was found on all Unity builds after version 2017.1.

Companies such as Valve and Microsoft have already deployed their own updates to both Steam Client and Windows Defender.

Those who are actively developing titles using Unity are advised to download the patched update for your version of the Unity Editor, available via Unity Hub or the Unity Download Archive, before building and publishing.
