Bungie CEO And Other Staff Members Tear Gassed By Seattle Police

Yesterday massive groups of people gathered in Seattle, Washington to protest police brutality and anti-racism in wake of the death of George Floyd. One of the people who participated in the peaceful protest was Bungie CEO Pete Parson who posted to Twitter showing what would become the result.

Parsons was there when police started shooting tear gas on the protestors and filmed part of the incident as it happened.

Since then we have learned via Jason Schreier of Bloomberg that several other Bungie staff members were also at the event including their Head of Marketing Eric Osborne who took to social media to state the following:

Until the @SeattlePD escalated. Over a white memorial candle, apparently. Or maybe it was the umbrellas. There will be another flimsy excuse next time, too. You can bank on it.

The @SeattlePD was not there to protect the community, or to create a peaceful environment for protest. Clearly not. They were there to enforce and create fear and to drive the crowd away. To infringe on people’s rights.

When we left, we walked past a large line of police. They were smiling. Laughing. Having fun.

But it’s not fun. It’s not funny. And there’s nothing to smile about. They should be ashamed, embarrassed, but they are not. They are gleeful.
