Nintendo Settles Labor Complaint With QA Tester, Will Payout $25,000

According to a new report by Polygon, Nintendo have settled a labor complaint former QA tester Mackenzie Clifton.

Last month Clifton came forward and told her side of the story in an interview with Axios where they said Nintendo let them go for asking current president Doug Bowser the company’s thoughts on unionization.

Nintendo of America and staffing agency Aston Carter will be paying Clifton $25,910 in pay, interest, and damages with all of the money coming from Aston Carter. Nintendo of America also agreed to post a notice in their Redmond offices the unionization rights that all employees have for the next 60 days.

The notice reads:

“You have the right to talk about a union, and WE WILL NOT stop you from talking about a union.”

“WE WILL NOT fire you because you exercise your right to raise issues and complaints to us on behalf of yourself and other employees, including related to the topic of unionization. WE WILL NOT fire you because of your union membership or support.”
