Halo Infinite Campaign Does Not Allow You To Replay Story Missions

Now that the embargos for Halo Infinite’s campaign has been lifted, news regarding it has started to flood the internet. One of the most negative things has been the inability to replay story missions without starting the entire campaign over again from the beginning.

This is related the the campaign being semi open-world with some missions requiring the player to cross different regions to complete objectives. While you can explore areas, story missions won’t trigger. Hence causing you the inability to go back and collect hidden items in some areas. The biggest examples being the first two missions of the game.

A representative for Microsoft told Kotaku:

“The postgame does give you the option to keep exploring the wider environment, but for missions like the first two, where you’re not on the ring yet, you can’t replay from the same save file. You’d be able to get any remaining FOBs, targets, [and] audio logs, but the main story missions would not repeat.”
