Sony Patients A “Cross-Platform Spoiler Block Service”

Everyone gets tired of spoilers making their way to the internet and now it appears that Sony are looking to stop that. Not by copyright strikes and cease-and-desist, but a service.

Sony Interactive Entertainment have been issued a patient by theUnited States Patent and Trademark Office for a “Cross-Platform Spoiler Block Service.”

This would allow gamers to block content they consider spoilers by both developers and the community itself. It would also allow Sony to hide stuff themselves, but allow users to override it.

Some have speculated that this technology could find its way to the Playstation 5 as the Playstation 4 does have a similar feature that can prevent a user from using its internal capture from streaming or recording certain scenes.
