In what has now been confirmed by Sal Romano over at Gematsu, Meta have confirmed they are shutting down three studios under their ownership. These three studios are Twisted Pixel, Armature Studio, and Sanzaru Games. According to the New York Times, this is in part due to a plan within Meta to cut 10% of employees in their Reality Labs business.
A spokesperson for Meta made the following statement to Gematsu:
“We said last month that we were shifting some of our investment from Metaverse toward Wearables. This is part of that effort, and we plan to reinvest the savings to support the growth of wearables this year.”
