Ever since the release on Splatoon last year it has become not only one of the most popular games on the Wii U, but has also become one of the fastest growing speedrunning communities in the world.
Today a player who goes by TonesBalones set a new world record for Splatoon under the any% category. Tones did it with a time of 52 minutes 16 seconds. This beats the previous world record held by Vallu and their time of 53 minutes 15 seconds. TonesBalones notes that he does did not use the “ink tank strats” that most speedrunners have used and judging by his time more people will be cutting those out of their future runs.
