During a Reddit AMA that took place overnight Blizzard’s Vice President and Game Director of Overwatch Jeffrey Kaplan said that Overwatch was always planned to release on consoles as well as PC.
Kaplan was asked specifically if there were any plans to release the game on Nintendo Switch and noted it wouldn’t be an easy task development wise, but was open-minded. Stating..
“I’m loving the Switch! My second favorite gaming platform of all time is the 3DS. Getting OW on the Switch is very challenging for us. But we’re always open minded about exploring possible platforms.”
