Nintendo Wins Court Case In Germany And Norway

Nintendo have won a court case brought on by the German Consumer Protection Authority (VZBV) and the Norwegian Consumer Council over Nintendo eShop pre-orders.

The German courts have determinted that it is not illegal to refuse refunds to those who pre-order video games through their Nintendo eShop. The court found that once a game has been pre-loaded from the eShop, consumers are unable to cancel that purchase even if the game hasn’t been released.

The decision has been appealed, but it is not expected to go through until 2021.
