Fans of the late singer Christina Grimmie created petitions on change.org asking Nintendo to name a character after her in her legacy as Grimmie was a massive Zelda fan.
A spokesperson did talk to TIME and released the following statement..
“We are aware of the outpouring of support for her, as well as the petition, but we won’t be making any creative or content decisions in this time of mourning.”
The petitions were able to garner over 75,000 signatures.
