Japan Post Suspends EMS and Airmail To United States

Some news that could affect many gamers out there, the Japan Post Service have now stated that they are temporary suspending EMS and airmail to the United States due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This means that those who have ordered games and consoles from Japan might not receive them for months.

The following has been temporarily suspended:

  • EMS
  • Parcel via airmail (SAL already suspended)
  • Ordinary mail (Small packages, printed material) via airmail

The following will still be accepted by Japan Post:

  • Parcel via surface mail
  • Ordinary mail (letters, postcards, etc) via airmail and surface mail
  • Ordinary mail (Small packages, printed material) via surface mail

At the time of publishing, Amazon Japan and DHL have still not suspended EMS or airmail.
