AMD have released the 500 series of graphics cards and has led a few owners of the 400 series GPUs upset, especially since its using the same Polaris architecture. However, some are finding some ways around it online.
Over on the TechPowerUp forums, forum user Tonybonjoby was able to download the BIOs from a Sapphire RX 580 Limited Edition GPU and flashed his XFX Radeon RX 480 card using ATIFlash. Thanks to this BIOS flash, his 480 is now recognized as a RX 580. Guru3D is also reporting similar successes with the 470 and 480 GPUs.
For those unaware, the RX 570 and 580 GPUs are averaging a 2-3% performance increase over the RX 470 and 480 graphics cards.
